ABOUT CLAIRE WHALING
Fresh to Atlanta as of late 2019, Claire is a transplant from Gainesville, Florida, where she has been tattooing professionally for the past five years. Born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, her obsession with tattooing started at a very young age, beginning from her love of Japanese culture, woodblock prints and enamored by several family member’s tattoos. Being kicked out of a tattoo shop in Hawaii at the age of 12, while trying to watch her aunt get a dragonfly put on her back, sparked this life long desire for anything related to the world of tattooing. She finds the history of the trade fascinating and extremely important for upholding the continuation of respect and honor of the craft. With that, Claire enjoys a challenge and all styles, with a heavy emphasis on bold American traditional and Japanese influences, tattoos that will stand the test of time.
As of early January 2019, she is also trained in certain areas of cosmetic tattooing, including microblading, beauty marks, and more to come.
You can find her, most likely rockin’ cowboy boots, Tuesday- Friday at the Little Five Points location.
